Join us on an unforgettable journey across Canada as we explore breathtaking destinations and hidden gems in my six-part series, “Where to Next?” From bustling cities to serene landscapes, each instalment of our adventure highlights unique experiences and stunning locales that made our trip truly remarkable.
This summer, we embarked on an unforgettable road trip to discover new corners of Canada. Credit for the meticulous planning goes entirely to my husband, Aaron, who orchestrated an incredible adventure that exceeded all our expectations.
Our first stop was a brief but delightful visit to Montreal. We started our day with bagels from St-Viateur Bagel, then made our way to Marché Jean-Talon for a delicious lunch and some freshly picked berries. And, of course, we couldn’t miss our first taste of poutine, which was just the beginning of many more to come!
Next, we headed to Quebec City for the 28th edition of The Grands Feux Loto-Québec, a stunning pyrotechnic show. The fireworks display was nothing short of spectacular, lasting almost 20 minutes and set to captivating music. The festival’s energy was electric, with people dancing in the streets and revelling in the festivities.
I thought I had seen impressive fireworks before, but this show was on another level. If you’re a fan of fireworks, make sure to visit Quebec City in August—you won’t see a more impressive display anywhere else!

I acknowledge that I live, work and play on the traditional territories of the Algonquin, Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and the Huron-Wendat. I am grateful for the care and stewardship these Nations have provided to the lands, waters and sky. I am committed to joining them in caring for this land and creating a welcoming place for everyone.
